Banton Frameworks is a brand we've admired for years. Much like us, they've built a new manufacturing business in a sector where nearly all British factories had closed. The UK once made over 5 million spectacle frames a year, but today only a handful of workshops remain - and just one in Scotland.
From their small workshop just north of Glasgow, founders Jamie and Lucy painstakingly design and make exceptional spectacles and sunglasses. Much like the many stages of turning hides into finished leather goods, each pair of Banton Frameworks glasses start with blank sheets of acetate and end up with incredibly high-spec specs. A hell of a lot of work for something that many of us take for granted, so a lot like leather really.
A PREMIUM LEATHER GLASSES CASE
A leather glasses case has been one of our most requested new products for a while, so we got in touch earlier this year to propose a collaboration for summer 2021. Made in Somerset from our supple yet strong vegetable-tanned leather, these glasses cases are ideal for keeping your eyewear safe and scratch-free.
We released a soft leather glasses case, crafting just a small batch of 50, in August 2021, which sold out within 24 hours. If you missed out, more will be along in time for Christmas so make sure to sign-up for our newsletter to be the first to find out.
